Due to its topographical setting, the Village is rich in flora and fauna. In order to conserve forest and wildlife, the Village since 1989, has been undertaking community conservation of forest and wildlife solely at its own effort and expense through the resolution adopted by the Village Community banning felling of trees and hunting. This is one of the first Community initiated Conservation in the State. An area of 15.65 sq.km has been apportioned as Forest and Wildlife Reserve Areas in the erstwhile jhum land known locally as Cepi, khuza-Tehe, Tükhra Kuhuku, Sukhuru-Dzükra forest. In this location, fishing or human activity of any kind that may disturb the aquatic niche is strictly prohibited. Unscrupulous extraction of flora like wild orchid, ginseng, or other wild plants of medicinal value for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
